I 100% disagree with that statement. When Chase is on the field the defense aligns according to where he goes, that doesn't happen for Tee. That right there is 100% why we should resign Chase. I would argue that Tee isn't really a #1 WR.orange_black wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 6:29 pminteresting topic.....

Re: NFL News & Notes
Its ok OB, I have asked the same question fully sober. I really think this comes down to a possession weapon vs a dynamic weapon. Tee can be trusted anywhere on the field to go get a ball. He's a good route runner (good enough). But he doesnt have the explosiveness of Chase. Ideally we keep both for a long time. But in reality, the one we "should" keep depends upon the other weapons we have on the roster. Right now everyone else is a possession guy. Burton remains to be seen. Maybe he can break open a few plays. But I don't think he's Chase. You keep Chase.

Chase will lose his speed and elusiveness Tee will never lose his height and wing span.
I'm not saying one is better than the other. But to throw Tee to the curb and say he's not a number 1 is just plane I don't know.
You'll see this year. I expect, if healthy, Higgins to have a monster year. A MONSTER YEAR

I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

Higgins will have a monster year because he's auditioning for his next team.Joe Bananas wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 8:00 pmYou'll see this year. I expect, if healthy, Higgins to have a monster year. A MONSTER YEAR

Re: NFL News & Notes
Tee "can" have a monster year but only if Burrow throws his way. With Chase in the mix you will likely see Tee with solid #2 numbers and a pass mix breakdown something like this:
Chase - 35%
Higgins - 25%
TE (by committee) - 15%
WR #3 (by committee) - 15%
RB (by committee) - 10%
So if Chase goes down again for a few games, yes, Higgins will rack up yards but will only pick up a fraction of Chase's take because he'll draw doubles every play. I think it is very tough for Tee to shine with stats on a loaded team. He wasn't a good fantasy pick last year when Chase was out for this very reason. We need to keep both of them next year. It can be done. But if Burton flashes, Tee is definitely gone.

If we finally get some production out of the TE position it should cut into both WRs numbers.

It's like we all just forgot about the Tee that started off last year. He was mister drop passes. Sure he's got talent but he's not the guy defenses plan around like Chase. In 5 to 8 years Chase will lose his speed and not be as effective but in the mean time he's still going to be a beast. I would also point out the Chase is more like Steve Smith and we all know how long that dude was productive.

Ocho tossing out some cryptic tweets for what thats worth. But I agree. Unless he has been running routes behind the scenes, he's not playing Sunday. And he won't practice today if that contract isn't done. Why hold in this long and suddenly give up your leverage.skycruiser wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:31 amhuge day today to see if he practices. if he's not on the field he likely won't play sunday and we are in official holdout space

Because he will not missing paychecks. Plus maybe he is realizing he is getting bad advise because SoP is very unlikely to give a contract extension to someone with 2 years left on their contract.stripesincarolina wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 11:03 amOcho tossing out some cryptic tweets for what thats worth.
