2025 NFL Draft Thread.
Re: 2025 NFL Draft Thread.
From NFL.com...
Stewart is carved from granite, possessing a rare blend of traits, explosiveness and untapped upside. He’s long and sudden off the snap but hasn’t learned to weaponize his hands to control the point of attack and bypass protection with go-to moves. His bull-rush compresses the pocket off the edge, and he’s too athletic for guards when reduced inside. He can be very disruptive in both phases but requires additional training to start converting his opportunities into finishes. The lack of production relative to the traits is a concern; still, players who move like him are highly coveted. While the boom-or-bust label might be in play, it feels like a matter of time before it all starts to click at a high level.
Strengths:
Carved from granite with a rare combo of size, length and explosiveness.
First-step burst and good bend to create danger in the gaps.
Strength to drive lateral blocks into the backfield.
Exceptional chase speed to close hard off the backside.
Speed-to-power rush knocks pass-setting tackles off their mark.
Has bend to turn and flatten the edge and hunt the passer.
Will threaten guards with length and quickness as a sub-rusher inside.
Traits, versatility and upside make his development a matter of when and not if.
Weaknesses
Puzzling lack of career production relative to his traits.
Allows blockers into his frame, diminishing his length.
Gets pushed off his base and widened at the edge.
Leans into blocks instead of commanding the point of attack through force.
Rushes the passer with intensity, but there can be a lack of plan and focus.
His hand usage in both phases is well behind schedule.
In desperate need of some go-to moves to kick-start his rush.

Why this team has sat home the last two years. Can't draft. Stopped spending on players in FA. Wow. I mean. I'm out. See yall.

I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

Go read how he was used. If he was used in a 4i position then I can see how he might now have gotten a bunch of sacks. I do also see how he had a TON of pressures. So instead of being the stubborn old man, read his draft profit and stop being a fkn prick!Joe Bananas wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 10:30 pmHe's had a fkn chance! Its called 4 years of college!MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 10:24 pmI'm sorry but that's not a fact. Gotta give the kid a chance before you just assume.Joe Bananas wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 10:10 pm
If you can't produce in college you're NOT going to produce in the NFL. I'm sorry but you're not.

Re: 2025 NFL Draft Thread.
Shemar Stewart says he didn't have any communication with the #Bengals prior to being drafted by Cincinnati.
"I never talked to the Bengals...I didn't talk to them. No 30 visits."
Added he doesn't remember meeting with the Bengals at the NFL combine.

I understand what you're saying Meat and if he'd been drafted by a team with a history of coaching up questionable players like Pittsburgh or Buffalo etc... I might agree.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 10:42 pmGo read how he was used. If he was used in a 4i position then I can see how he might now have gotten a bunch of sacks. But given that he was drafted by the Bengals, a team with a poor record of developing players, i have to be skeptical.

I understand being skeptical, I truly do. Hell I'm skeptical of the pick, but what I'm not going to do is just down right dog the guy and automatically assume he's going to be trash when we honestly don't know what's going to happen. That's such an ignorant thing to do, I mean it's literally beyond ignorant!Bengals1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 10:58 pmI understand what you're saying Meat and if he'd been drafted by a team with a history of coaching up questionable players like Pittsburgh or Buffalo etc... So who's lying about a meeting? Zach's first line is he met him at the combine.skycruiser wrote: ↑Thu Apr 24, 2025 10:55 pmShemar Stewart says he didn't have any communication with the #Bengals prior to being drafted by Cincinnati.
