We had to have set a record this year!!
Triple Crown WR
Burrow league leading stats.
Hendrickson league leading Sacks
Cappa sucking the most and winning the negative triple crown.
Seriously this just never happens.

Agree! We gotta play these guys. Selecting first and second rounders and stashing them on the depth chart isn't helping this team, like at all! The main reason Lou do is gonzo!MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 7:41 pmI think Murphy fits our system, he's a bigger, stronger, fast, younger Sam Hubbard!Joe Bananas wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:31 pmAgree! I've been saying this. No development and players have regressed.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 7:49 pm
I would say coaching players up is going to be the defensive position coaches. If you look at our D-line, they literally regressed, Ossi had a lot of promise and showed a lot of talent while here but only got worse. Murphy, if you watch him has an amazing motor and should be better then he's played. His pressure rating on QB's is super high but can't finish, that's 100% the position coach and not teaching him how to finish. I also think some of these defensive picks were front office and not Lou. Just like I know for a fact that Carmon was not someone Pollack ever wanted. I think the front really screws up a lot of these picks by not listening to our coaches.
I'm still in love with Dax Hill. They have absolutely ruined this kid. No development. Best athlete in team and they can't find a spot for him? Even if you don't think a great player will fit your scheme then do not draft him! Draft players you don't have to change. Draft players to play their strengths. Don't draft players saying well I can make their weakness a strength....NO you cannot!
Dax Hill, Carmen, Murphy and a few others are why we are sitting home this playoff weekend! Early round draft picks need to stick in order for a team to become super competitive!

Who do you guys want as DC?

Knowing I no nothing about their leadership style behind the scenes, I'd be fine with Don Martindale, Matt Eberflus, sounds like Robert Saleh's going back to the 49ers.
If you recall, Lou was like the team's 3rd choice after getting turned down a few times. Really, I just want someone with a strong reputation for talent evaluation and development, since we need them to do both.

Update from Dehner: Considering the unfriendly history between the #Bengals and Wink Martindale, it's kind of funny they somehow got caught up in the conversation about him for DC. For clarity: Martindale is not part of the #Bengals DC search nor was he ever under consideration.

I'm kind of pulling for Mike Zimmer, I always liked how he prepared and shut down really good QB's. Go back and look at his stats against Brady and Rogers, he did extremely well against them. He's also got ties here already, however I'm not sure he'd come back to the place his wife passed. That might just be too rough for him.

I wasn't ok with Eberflus but it's grown on me. Only issue is that he doesn't blitz enough. But I'm not 100% in sync with what he does really. I mean it's all crazy formations, etc and I get lost with information overload with all that.
Martindale. Maybe... but sounds as if he's really not being considered.
Golden. Again. I'm not to familiar with his game or scheme.
Like Ace. I need development in players. There's no reason why, again, I keep.beating a dead horse, but Hill is athletic enough to be playing somewhere. So is Murphy. I get that every team whiffs on some draft picks, but to just not play them, Murphy, when Hubbard did squat this year is frustrating to watch, or whatch this year.
New blood is needed obviously on defense. I had such HIGH hopes for Taylor Britt. Dude was off the charts good. He absolutely looked lost more than not most the time this past year. If someone can utilize and think of some strengths to play Hill, Ossai, and get CBT back on track, along with getting the other Michigan CB back from injury-memory collapsed on his name, maybe play the two young safeties ( battle and Anderson or D Johnson) get a strong front and another edge it improves this defense tremendously.
