The #Bengals are signing OL Ted Karras to a 3-year, $18M deal, source said.
6th round pick of the Patriots out of Illinois. He'll compete with Hopkins but nothing earth shattering. Still, they're trying... 8-)

#Bengals love Karras' versatility. Can play guard and center at quality level. Also, like Cappa, won a title blocking for Brady.

They add two OL pieces for $16M per year. That's an efficient path to #nodonkeys.

Both have blocked for Brady. Both are warriors. One dude went into a game with a broken leg. Not Orlando Paces, no, but better than what we had...??
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

More from Dehner

Ted Karras in 2021 ranked in top 10 among all guards in pass blocking efficiency (8th), pressures allowed (1st), PFF pass block grade (8th).

Played both guard/center last two years as one of the best IOL pass protectors in the NFL.

Let Burrow cook, indeed.

Doesn't look like the Pats fought too hard to keep him....

Bengals signed OL Ted Karras for three years, $18M, per source. Patriots initially offered three years and $15M then lowered it to three years, $13M.

I love that in pure B1 fashion you are still looking for the negative in every move.

Pats message boards seem to really like Karras. They seem disappointed to see him gone, but also note it's not the end of the world.

There was definitely a little bitterness about that report that the Pats lowered their offer to him.

I'm always happy to be bringing in guys that other team's fans are sad to see go.

I'm always happy to bring in guards who weren't Bengals in 2020 and 2021.

From Dehner's keyboard to God's ear..... :?

Paul Dehner Jr. (@pauldehnerjr)
The wild card out there now is La'el Collins. Questions to keep in mind: Why hasn't he been traded yet? What does his market look like if he ends up released?

Only spending $16M/year on first two OL pieces definitely clears path to potentially pull off the trifecta.
