Jmble sent me this off-line trying to frighten me. Jmble's mean. :(

NFL Rumors @nflrums
#Alabama Evan Neal is reportedly falling down #NFLDraft boards as some medical test info has been leaking today, per Walter Football.

Oogie-Boogie II.....?

Don't think we need to draft a punter.
I like the idea of CB at 31. Unfortunately after Gardner and Stingley, the next 5 to 7 are scattered mid first to mid second. Elam and Booth are my only two choices here though.

They know what they have in dru Christman at this point (who was freakin awesome for Ohio state). If he’s not the heir apparent then heck yeah draft a punter in the 4th or 5th

Seen this too. Neal's camp is flat denying it. This happens every year to a player another team wants so something goofy is made up in hopes that player "slides" to them. Heck maybe there's something to it as well. Dunno.

Still working on my final mock. Should have it soon.
This business of yours sure is getting in the way of you posting about the draft. Need to spend some time thinking about your priorities. :D

So barring a blue chip talent like Linderbaum and Karlaftis dropping, I think it is imperative we trade down. We got lucky last year with health and while we don't have glaring holes, we need depth at key spots. Outside the top 20 guys, there is similar talent/value for the next 50 players. Getting an extra pick in the top 20 would be ideal.

So in this scenario, I trade with Houston for picks 37 and 80. I am also using Fanspeak's simulator with a consensus value board.

2a. Logan Hall DL Houston- He is a tweener DE/DT. He is good at pushing the pocket from the edge and interior. He will primarily fill the role vacated by Ogunjobi, but cold also spell Hedrickson and Hubbard in a pinch. He is 6'6" 280. He will be expected to get about 700 snaps year 1.

2b. Cam Jurgens C Nebraska- This seems like a reach, but Pollack loves this guy. Strong, athletic, and mean. He gets into trouble with penalties, but those penalties are mostly being too aggressive.

3a. Marcus Jones CB Houston- A bit on the small side, but he had solid production as a cover corner. He is also a dynamic returner. While some may want a CB at 31, all the prospects have flaws. Jones is not too far off those guys, but he has the extra element to be punt returner.

3b. John Metchie WR Bama- This would be the low end of his availability. He is not as dynamic as previous Bama receivers plus depth in this year's class, and a recent injury will likely push him down. He seems fine physically. He should step in and be the #4 WR and eventually replace Boyd as the primary slot.

4. Dan Bellinger TE SDST- One of the better prospects at the position. Fits the bill, athletically, the type of TE the team likes to draft and develop. OK production and willing but not great blocker.

5.Smoke Monday S Auburn- We need S depth bad. Besides the great name, he is actually a solid player.

6. Reggie Roberson WR SMU- I went to a couple SMU games. He is one of their best players and he definitely stands out with agility and athleticism. Should compete for the 5th spot.

7. Tyrion Davis-Price RB LSU- Big back that could develop into a reliable 2 down back. Should have relationship with Burrow and Chase.

7. Skykar Thompson QB KST- A developmental QB.

Nice Mag. Not to keen on the TE pick or the seventh rounders. Other than that I could live with it.

Personally I like where this team is right now and it's culture, I think we'll be fine with whoever we take. We've turned our franchise into a place we can groom players, and I honestly believe that.
