Personally I could care less about how good our tailgating or city is if we're winning a SB... Just saying...stripesincarolina wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 4:40 pmTrust me, Charlotte NC is WAAAAAYYYY worse in terms of activities to do in and around town. But, if the writer is putting the emphasis on tailgating then the Panthers fans certainly do a great job of that. Cincy is a great town but you do have to know where to go and it often isn't right in downtown.Exile wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 11:34 amCopy and paste from the 90s? "Bengals games are rarely exciting"? Has he not heard of Joe Burrow?Bengals1 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 10:59 pmBen Volin of the Boston Globe set out to rank every NFL destination in the country and slapped the Bengals last, writing the following:
“30. Cincinnati: The ribs at Montgomery Inn are great. And you can stay across the river in Covington to cross Kentucky off your list of states visited. But there’s not much going on in downtown Cincinnati, the stadium has no tailgating space, and Bengals games are rarely exciting.“

#Bengals claim #Cardinals Lamont Gaillard off waivers
#WhoDey #NFL
I admit I had to look him up. He's a Center.
Gaillard didn't allow a sack and gave up six pressures in 217 offensive snaps last season according to Pro Football Focus.

Camp depth to make sure Hopkins can come back slow. And maybe of he outplays Price he could stick.

Hey, at least they're trying.

A little more on Gaillard....
Gaillard (6-3, 305) was a sixth-round draft pick of the Cardinals back in 2019. In his two seasons in Arizona, he played in 13 games and made two starts in 2020. Pro Football Focus graded him with a 48.1 for his appearances in 2020.
Before the NFL, Gaillard was a three-year starter at center for the Georgia Bulldogs. In 2018, Gaillard played a few games next to right guard Trey Hill, whom the Bengals selected in the sixth-round of this year’s NFL Draft. Gaillard and Hill will now become the newest pair of former collegiate teammates on the Bengals’ roster.
The addition of Gaillard comes several weeks after news of Hakeem Adeniji’s injury broke. Adeniji was expected to compete at guard this season, so with Gaillard coming into town with experience at center, this may indicate that Hill and or Keaton Sutherland could be playing more guard during training camp and preseason action.
Trey Hopkins is still working back from his ACL injury, so Gaillard also provides additional depth behind Billy Price.

Bengals are bringing in former Chiefs Center Austin Reiter for a visit on Monday.
Reiter is 29 years old and played 867 snaps for KC in 2020. Overall PFF score was 70.9, pass blocking 78.3, and run blocking 63.6.
Had zero penalties and allowed zero sacks.
Which leads to the question, why is this guy still a free agent? Seems like someone a lot of teams could use.
Here's what PFF said about him at the beginning of free agency.

The NFL is always chasing dominance on the offensive line, but in truth, solidity is more important — it can lead to excellent value on players that don’t tick the boxes the league wants them to, particularly if they weren’t high draft picks.
This sums up Austin Reiter, a seventh-round draft pick by Washington back in 2015. He has been the starting center for the Kansas City Chiefs for the past two seasons and has never had an overall PFF grade worse than solid during his NFL career.
In a league continuing to trend ever-more pass happy, Reiter’s pass blocking has also been the stronger facet of his game, with three straight seasons of at least a 77.5 PFF grade in that area. Reiter will likely never be a superstar, but he is assuredly solid at a key pivot point along the offensive line and will be dramatically underrated because he isn’t a dominant force inside.
Some teams have endured sub-standard center play for years, and a player like Reiter would likely be a cheap but significant upgrade for them.

Was he one of their O-linemen who was injured during the Super Bowl...?

The Bengals are bringing in center Austin Reiter, previously of the Chiefs, for a workout Monday. First reported by Tom Pelissero.
He won't be alone, there are expected to be two other offensive linemen with him as the Bengals assess options to fill out the back of the roster.

Bookkeeping note: new Bengals C Lamont Gaillard was also claimed by both the Giants and Rams on waivers, but Cincy had higher waiver priority. Teams are mining for depth with camps back upon us.

While the #Bengals picked up center Lamont Gaillard off waivers yesterday and now Reiter, it seems odd, but nothing is wrong with Trey Hopkins and Billy Price. They are still solid as the top two as Hopkins continues to work his way back from his ACL tear.

Vikes got him on a one year deal. Meh. I'd rather keep the focus on Oline and LB.
