All appearances of Mike Hilton departing in FA as well. This team is going to look very different on the Oline, Dline and secondary for sure.

He still had the skills to play near the line of scrimmage but his ability to cover was not what it used to be. He turns 31 this week. Father time is undefeated.

He is only about 6 months older than Hendrickson that is why I would be very hesitant to give Trey a big extension.

Higgins gets tagged for year 2. Important to note that the Bengals have never let anyone play on a second year tag and I don't think they intend to let that happen here either.
His cap hit for this is $26,179,200 which is 9.38% of the cap. Burrow takes up 16.57%, Chase 7.81% and Brown Jr. 5.38%. That is nearly 40% so expect the D to suck again next year. When you spend so little on the D you can't keep having draft misses like they have had the last handful of years.

I have some hope, if we draft well. Somehow folks like the Eagles do it, that doesn't mean we can't. Just need to get young talent on defense under rookie deals, or folks like Cheeto who were first round pick looking to prove themselves because of bad coaching or poor systems.

Eagles cap values are nothing like the Bengals.
Eagles top 4 O cap values are only 20.5% of total cap. Hurt and all their WR combined take up way less cap space than just Burrow.
Johnson RT - 6.21%
Hurts - 5.13%
Brown WR - 4.65%
Mailata LT - 4.55%

BTW Barkley only took up 1.49%.

Bengals EDGE Sam Hubbard retired after seven NFL seasons.

Hubbard’s injury-marred career ends after just seven years in Cincinnati. He suffered a major knee injury in mid-December and missed the remainder of the 2024 season before calling it quits in a social media post on Wednesday. Hubbard, 29, ends his NFL career with 38.5 sacks and 236 solo tackles. His play fell off in 2024, as Hubbard managed just ten QB hurries over 14 games, along with two sacks. He was an explosive EDGE rusher when healthy and helped power the Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance in 2022.

Happy for this guy. He's been living his dream for 7 years and now he's able to retire with made a good amount of money and retired from the team he's loved since he was a kid.

And his last play as a defensive edge rusher was a touchdown catch from Joey Burrow!

Per Adam Schefter, the Bengals have grated Trey Hendrickson the right to seek out a trade.

That shouldn't hurt our already stellar defense, right?
